§ 13.07.010. Description and purpose.

This chapter shall be known as the "Utility Users Tax Ordinance." The purpose of this chapter is to impose a utility users tax as a revenue measure necessary to pay the usual and current expenses of conducting the municipal government of the City, the proceeds of which shall be paid into the general fund of the City, to provide exemptions for certain low and very low income households headed by senior citizens and disabled persons, and to provide for the termination of the tax five years after adoption, unless extended by a vote of the people.
